"I want
to take this opportunity to talk about the special Graveside
Memorial Service Jo Schechter created for our family and
friends. My husband died after being ill for many months. Jo met
with our family, me and our daughters, for several hours finding
out more about my husband Horace and our family.
We
were so surprised and pleased that she spent so much time with
our family so she could really know us well. She spent this time
learning about his history, stories each one of us had to share,
learned about his qualities, both good and those that were
difficult at times. She then put together a very personalized
service which included his history, stories including humorous
ones, and elaborated on his qualities. She incorporated his
favorite music, special poems, and time for sharing by family
and friends. This very special process and the Memorial Service
that she created helped us all to gain some closure and enabled
us to further our grieving and healing process about his loss.
She
visited me several times in the months to follow, giving
emotional support and counseling. She is very knowledgeable
about the different grief support groups and other resources in
our area. Our entire family is grateful to Jo for helping us
through this extremely difficult time."
